Trans and Non-Binary Participants Needed for Study on Therapist Trans Competence
Researchers at the University of Akron are developing a questionnaire for mental health therapists to give to their trans patients to get feedback on the trans-competence of their services. This will be the first questionnaire of its kind and the hope is that it will improve the quality of mental health services available to the trans community. Any person over 18 who does not identify as cisgender who has ever received mental health counseling or therapy is eligible to take this survey.
Participation in this study involves completing a 15–20-minute online survey where you will respond to demographic questions and then answer all the potential questions that may or may not end up on the final questionnaire, so that we can determine which items work best and are most important. Follow this link to access the survey: https://akron.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eg1yV85G2Qf6QMm
Please note that this project does not have funding and that thus there is no compensation available to participants. We sincerely thank you for considering donating your time and expertise to this research. You can reach out to me, Nicole Fogwell, at ntf11@uakron.edu for more information
